Following the wild popularity of The Codex, Edgeworks released a feature-length prequel entitled The Heretic. It explored the backstories of the characters from the original series, and answered many questions left over from the finale. The Heretic was very successful in its own right, garnering tens of millions of hits and numerous press features, and remains one of the first and only machinima webseries to include fully-integrated computer animation sequences.

The Heretic follows the story of Dové Antenatee, a High Cleric of the Holy Covenant, who begins to find evidence that makes him question his faith. Realizing that he must flee his own people to discover the truth, Dové begins a journey across the galaxy, forcing the Human and Covenant fleets to chase him. Whoever reaches him first will have access to a wealth of powerful secrets, but with two enormous fleets closing in on one another, the stage is set for a cataclysmic battle for the fate of the galaxy...

Apr 2nd 2009 at 7:38pm A Long Time Coming by Nerrolken Well, it's been a long time coming, but I'm happy to announce that the Making The Codex Series featurettes have finally been completed! The last two, dealing with special effects and music composition, have been written and uploaded and are ready for your viewing. Believe it or not, it's been almost two years since the completion of The Heretic, and these have been weighing on the back of my mind for a long time. So I'm happy to announce that they are done! Mar 12th 2009 at 1:57am De Reeks van de Heretic by Nerrolken He's done it again! Not content to simply translate The Codex, a very, VERY dedicated fan named Aylmer van As has just begun releasing a complete translation of The Heretic into Dutch! We've always gotten uncommonly high traffic rates from the Netherlands, so this should appeal to a great many fans. I've added it to the sidebox rotation, as well as the Links pages. This is incredibly exciting for us here at Edgeworks! There is really very little more thrilling than to watch other people become inspired by your work. We owe a great thanks to Aylmer for his dedication and creativity, and we hope our Dutch fans get a kick out of this! Comments (0)
