More updates to announce: the Edgeworks Online Store has gotten a few graphic and design tweaks. Specifically, the formatting has been made more standard between product pages, a "Related Products" section has been added to each product page, a product availability listing has been added beneath the title of each item, the "View Cart" option has been moved to a discrete link at the top right with a nifty shopping cart icon, and the "Add to Cart" button has been replaced with a custom button that conforms more to the Edgeworks aesthetic. Just a few minor updates, but they'll help grease the wheels the next time we add items to the store.
Additionally, there are several items in the store that are listed as "Supplies Limited." We've gotten a increase in sales recently, so if you're interested in getting an Edgeworks or Codex T-shirt, you might want to do it soon, before we run out. |

More site updates today, this time in the form of a brand-spanking-new Video tool that will make it infinitely easier for us to post new videos to the site. It also, incidentally, makes it easier to make formatting and content changes to the many existing video pages throughout the site, and we have taken the opportunity to add Share links to all videos pages for The Codex, The Heretic, and Vox Populi. These allow you a suite of sharing options, including links to Facebook, Twitter, Delicious, MySpace, Digg, StumpleUpon, and countless others. We have also gone ahead and added them to the VP Bios pages, for those people interested in self-promotion or in spreading the word about a particularly good writer, and to the front pages of each main site, for those interested in spreading the word about a production in general.
Most of our videos are pretty old news these days, but hopefully this will help spread the word about new videos when we begin releasing them. In the meantime, our site continues to become more and more efficient and advanced, and that day is growing closer and closer.
So hang in there! There are exciting days ahead for Edgeworks Entertainment! |

Exciting news from Edgeworks HQ: we have just unveiled our new on-site advertising system! After experimenting with several ad companies, we have decided to design our own advertising service, and here's the cool part: we are opening it up to you! You can read all the details on our new Advertise page, but here's the basic idea: for just $10, you can buy yourself a spot in the Edgeworks ad rotation for a full month! This system is designed to allow young filmmakers, journalists, bloggers, or other content-creators who couldn't otherwise afford advertising to help spread the word about their products. It is meant to fit any budget, so anyone who wants to can take advantage of our system.
The proceeds from these ads will go directly toward hosting for the website, and then toward funding our next project. It's a great deal, so if you've got a machinima series, a blog, or a website, come spread the word! |

Just a quick update to our forum members: a new kind of spambot has been PMing all our users at once. If you've received emails from this bot, we apologize.
Here's the good news: IPB just released a patch to combat this bot, and I have installed it. It makes a user wait a certain number of minutes between sending PMs, so it should massively slow these things down. I currently have it set at 5 minutes between PMs. If you think it should be higher or lower, you can discuss it in your replies, but know that the problem should be fixed.
I have sent out a bulk mail message to all our users, to assure those members who have stopped visiting the site. |

We've got a few site updates to announce today. First of all, the news system has been revamped. In the wake of Vox Populi, with its section-specific news feed, we have decided to do the same for the rest of the site. We have divided the News Archive forum into sections based on our productions, and frontpage newsposts will only appear on the sites to which the news is relevant. The Edgeworks section, however, will consolidate all the news posts onto one page, as does the Edgeworks RSS feed, so it shouldn't be too hard to keep track of the company as a whole. Edgeworks newsposts that are not related to a specific production, (such as this one), will appear on all sites. It's kind of a complex system, but VP has also given us a tool for making it easier to keep track of: the icons. All newsposts on all site sections now include an icon indicating what production it is related to, so you can see at a glance where the newest activity is happening. We think this will be a very helpful system once new productions begin, so our fans can keep track of the news from their favorite productions without having to sift through news from others.
The other big news of the day is about advertising. Up until now, Edgeworks has relied exclusively on word of mouth to build its fanbase. However, both as a product of our new focus and in anticipation of future productions, we have begun testing the waters of advertising, specifically using Facebook ads. We have one ad for Vox Populi up and running right now, and we are considering adding a few more in the coming weeks. We have also created official Facebook pages for Edgeworks Entertainment and Vox Populi, so if you have a profile on Facebook, follow those links and become a fan! It will help spread the word through the massive world of Facebook, and allow you to meet your friends from the forums in another light. (If anyone wants to friend me, by the way, I'm a fan of both, so just send a Friend Request to Alexander Winn.)
Exciting things are happening here at Edgeworks HQ, and as Edgeworks continues to pick up steam and work out the kinks of its new incarnation, we're confident that our community will only grow stronger. So go become a fan of Edgeworks and Vox Populi, spread the word, tell a friend, and be sure to check back often for the latest news from Edgeworks Entertainment! |
